Dr. Linda Hart is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner with over three decades of experience.
Linda received her Bachelor of Nursing at Radford University, Radford, VA. She practiced as a critical care and ER nurse before pursuing her master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She practiced almost 20 years as a NP in cardiac surgery, acute care cardiology and advanced heart Failure. Most recently she served in a medical science liaison role and as the Clinical Education Manager for Nuwellis, a device company focused on treating fluid overload.

She received her Doctor of Nursing practice degree from University of Virginia. Her research focus was transitional care of patients with heart failure using health coaching and telemonitoring.

Dr. Hart is an active member of the ACC serving on several national committees. She has served as state liaison for Virginia, chair of the Cardiovascular Team Advocacy committee, the Sports and Exercise council, Health Affairs Committee, and several strategic planning work groups. She currently serves the College as the co- chair for the cross-section advocacy group, the Heart PAC executive board, the Advanced Career Section leadership group, and on the Geriatric Cardiology Clinical Council. In addition, she was involved in the ACC Health Policy document on team-based care.
Dr. Hart has presented research on cardiology topics including heart failure, cardiorenal syndrome, cardio-oncology, the ethics of LVAD deactivation, team-based care, and geriatric science at the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association, American Academy of Nursing, and Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioner meetings. She has co-authored research on domain management to heart failure in geriatric patients and the use of artificial intelligence in patient selection for ultrafiltration therapy.
Linda is married to Roger Hart, and together they have 6 adult children and 11 grandchildren. She enjoys her family, cooking, dancing, swimming, traveling, and being active in her church and community.
